Attendance & Visitor Policy

Attendance Policy

The following is an explanation of our attendance policy

Absences: Daily attendance is required except when the student is ill. If the child is ill, a note is required within two days of the absence to excuse the absence. Students with lengthy or frequent illnesses are required to bring a doctor’s note. *Children with excessive absences may be filed on*

Tardies: Any PK-5 students who is not with their class by 7:45AM, will be considered tardy. A tardy is counted the same way an absence is. This means that if a child has more than three tardies, the parent/ guardian will be notified. *If there is continuous tardies, filing in court may occur*

Parts of Day: If a student is picked up before 1:45PM (for PK), and 2:45PM(for K-5), this will count as a part of day absence. This will be counted as a tardy, which again, gets counted just like an absence does. If a child is attending an appointment with a doctor or dentist, a note is needed within two days to excuse the absence. *A child with excessive parts of day absences can be filed on as well*

*A parent of a child can be filed on under two conditions:

v      By having 3 or more unexcused absences within a four-week period.

v      By having 10 or more unexcused absences within a six-month period.
